Self-Care during Lockdown

So it has been a very strange few weeks for us all during Covid 19. Between home improvements, home schooling my 2 babies, exercising and not killing my husband it has been difficult to say the least. Now its not to say I have not enjoyed the time with my family I have loved it. Especially as I never get this amount precious time. It got me thinking that now we actually have some sort of down time how many of us are actually taking some 'ME' time?. We encounter enormous amount of stress in everyday modern life such as work, studies, health, wealth, family, relationships, scheduling, holidays.. The list goes on and on. Sometimes even pleasant events can cause our mind and heart to race, not to forget the unpleasant ones.
So what is self care ?
From my perspective, self-care are tiny habits you can include in everyday life to soothe the amount of stress and help you be more balanced mentally, emotionally and physically.
How can we improve our 'ME' time?
Now I personally, I wait for my boys to go to bed firstly. That way I find I can switch off better but you will find your own way. These are just some suggestions to help.
- Bubble bath or a warm shower
Recommendation- London Sleep Company Elixr. This just smells amazing and I love it for me it instantly relaxes me.
- Burning candles, incense or enjoying a room spray
Recommendation - Neils yard pillow mist
- Silencing all the social media and enjoying a book or a movie
Recommendation - At least 1 hour minimum with no devices such as mobiles, Ipads and laptops. Reading a good book will always help to wind down. Positive mindset books are perfect at the moment such as The Secret and Ant Middletons Fear bubble.
- Facial massage with face masks
Recommendation - As a lot of you know our Dermaviduals enzyme and alga masks have been flying out. These are perfect for boosting your skin whilst in between treatments.
- Stretching yoga routine / exercising
Recommendation - (there's plenty of instructions on Youtube) but we are loving yoga with Adrienne and she does it with her dog . Whats not to love?.
- Apply a hair mask or conditioner and keep it for a while
Recommendation - Revlon coconut conditioner spray . This literally smells like a holiday in a bottle.
These are just a few things we can all do. Through this difficult time. Health is wealth so take 5 for you.
