Choosing the right provider?
Don't be afraid to ask for qualifications. Dermapen is a medical device and should have a minimum of NVQ level 3 in Beauty Therapy, and microneedling qualifications. There are many who have decided to join the industry and offer microneedling, yet they haven’t got the base knowledge needed to underpin all treatments.
Make sure they are insured. Insurance companys will not insure a practitioner unless they have the appropriate qualifications and certificates. They also should be a member of an awarding body. For example, I’m an associate member of BABTAC.
Cheap doesn't mean better results. When I do my orders we know what it is costing so when I personally see treatments for as little as £50 it rings alarm bells. Concerns such as back flow in the device which is very dangerous and can put the patient at risk.
Does it hurt?
Nope , the treatment is super comfortable and has developed so much. You don't need blood as end point regardless what social media shows you.
How long will I be red for?
Your skin may be pink for an hour or two but you don't need to take time off work for 2 weeks. Again technology has evolved.
How many treatments do I need?
Now this is something i get asked ALOT. This depends on what your end point is however, for someone is suffering with scaring it could be as many as 9 plus it completely depends on the individual. Results last 6-9 months. Your skin health will improve every treatment. A lot of my patients like to alternate these treatments eg, dermapen, skin resurfacing, dermapen.
